Chairman – Phil Harris

Phil competed in his first triathlon in late 2013 and has been hooked ever since. Loves cycling, tolerates running, hates swimming, but knows it has to be done! Successfully completed his first ironman distance in 2016 at the Outlaw after completing the half in 2015. Other than tri, Phil loves skiing, motor sport and generally anything a bit nuts (including his family). Interesting fact – Once drove on a wall of death in a go kart!

Lee, provider of Lycra to the masses, a triathlete who after a number of years of hard training has managed to perfect being precisely average at all three disciplines.  His toughest races so far have been the Slateman and Sandman in 2015 although my finest hour will always be beating Jimmy Dewis at East Leake!  … and no he hasn’t got any small hoodies left!

Club Captain – Gareth Parker (Men’s)

gazpOne of the founder members of our club (Feb 2012). Although an ex-international swimmer , can’t even run to catch a bus ! Took up triathlon after watching wife (Head Coach Angie) do a sprint triathlon, thinking “can’t be that hard” , and then realising it is.

Favourite Triathlon event was Mallorca Olympic , hardest Sandman Olympic (less swimming, more cycling and running!) He will be taking part in 1st Half Ironman this year (2017)

Favourite motto :-“Failure is not the worst thing in the world. The worst thing is not to try”
