The 2nd annual Shaw Rowcroft Memorial Trophy 5km Race

Race details.

The 2nd annual Shaw Rowcroft Memorial Trophy 5km Race will take place at the Nuneaton Harriers Athletics track at the Pingles

Saturday 31st August 2019
Registration @ 09:15 - 09:45
Race start @ 10:00

This race is being held in memory of a great man that was taken too early from us all. Shaw was much loved by all who knew him at Nuneaton Triathlon Club and was one of the clubs most dedicated members. In remembering Shaw's inclusive spirit, this truly will be a 5km race that can be won by anyone. All you need to do is predict the time it will take you to complete the 5km's (12 and a half laps of the track) and the member who's actual time is closest to their predicted time will win the Shaw Rowcroft Memorial Trophy. Strictly NO timing device will be allowed, watch, phone, music, or anything else. You can walk, jog or run it, it's really up to you, just be the closest to your predicted time.

Entry fee is £5 which covers the use of the track and a donation to Shaw's chosen charity the Myton Hospice.

Bring money for tea/coffee and cakes. Money raised from cakes sales will also go to Myton. Any cake donations to sell will also be appreciated!

This competition is open to everyone whether a member of NTC or not. There will be a small prize for the winner, but for the closest NTC member there will be the chance of winning the coveted trophy.

Please see prediction form (in files) that if you can be so kind as to print, fill out and produce at registration with £5 entry fee, upon which you will be allocated a race number. (there will be a small amount printed on the day but do try to bring one with you?)

Also every entrant gets a raffle ticket for a chance to win some great prizes (which will be drawn on the day so stick around)

How brilliant is this idea from one of the guys at Triathlon Trust? No binning mass amounts of single use plastic at The Brownlee Foundation event today!

It was a pleasure to support today's event and to see so many young people enjoying what for some, is their first triathlon.

Congratulations to all who took part & well done to those who organised and helped with the smooth running of today's event. ...
